  The ambience was artsy: brick walls, open room, large bar, Mexican murals. The food was Mexican American: your average burritos and tacos. The soft shells were above average. Spicy beef burrito had the perfect level of heat. The Margaritas were well above-average: Large, tasty with a good amount of alcohol. The apple empanada came with a sweet vanilla sauce on the side. The pastry shell was crispy and light. The apple was ordinary pie filling. For the price, a good meal.

  Last Saturday at 5:15 we arrived at the Deptford location. It was my husband, myself, our 5 year old and our 1 year old. We were told 15 -20 minutes to wait. This was fine with us...it was, after all, Saturday night. This is my son's favorite place to eat. We let him pick that night. We waited approximately 20 minutes and then we were called. We walked back to a corner booth. When my husband inquired about our high chair for our daughter, she's a big personality and a difficult one to keep still without food so high chairs are the ONLY WAY to keep her still...the young tall host said "oh we can put a high chair at a booth." I understand there are probably reasons for this, but it was the last booth in the corner, not a heavily traveled path. He told us "ok. Just wait a minute, you were next and I'll find you a table." 20 minutes later, we were still waiting... I saw a table of 4 get up and I thought, ok, this is it. The host grabbed spray and a rag and rushed in the direction of the table shouting to the other host/hostess shouting, "I'm going to bus table # xx" I assumed that he was going to bus that table for us, knowing that we were waiting for 20 minutes beyond our place in line. He didn't. He rushed to bus a 2 person table for an older couple that came in ages after us. I was livid. My husband, knowing he and my son LOVE the food there -I'm never impressed- hushed me assuring me it would only be another minute or 2 for them to clear the 4 top I saw empty. 10 minutes later, they still hadn't. The hostess brought a high chair over so I assumed, ok they cleared a table for us on the other side of the restaurant where I couldn't see, and this was our turn... it wasn't. The hostess walked with the high chair back to that corner booth. The one that we were told 30 minutes before that we were not able to sit at with a high chair. So that was it. After waiting for 50+ minutes with 2 hungry kids, at my son's favorite restaurant, I had to explain to him that due to the incompetence of the employees and the disrespect that we were shown, we had to go elsewhere. I refused to be ignored any longer. As you can imagine, if you have kids, my son was not happy. After this, we had to go and wait at another restaurant because I REFUSED to wait 30 seconds longer and spend a dime at an establishment that could be so horrible to 4 people. It was utterly despicable in my opinion. We eat, or I should say, USED TO EAT there 1-2 times per month. I will never walk through the doors again. I know I am one person. I know they lost maybe $75 every few weeks, and that's pocket change in the grand scheme of things, but I refuse to accept the disrespect we were shown. For whatever reason WE were unable to have a high chair at that booth, but someone else was. I am telling everyone I know because this kind of stuff irritates me to no end!
